Astronomers have captured images of a new visitor to our solar system - the first known comet or asteroid to visit us from another star.

The Earth is at serious risk of an asteroid strike, according to a leading Irish astrophysicist.

The skies are expected to shimmer with a “natural firework display” tonight as a meteor shower crosses into the earth’s atmosphere, astronomy experts have predicted.
