What will become the new BMW 2 Series saloon was unveiled recently at Auto Guangzhou 2015, one of the largest international motor shows in China.

We already know the BMW 6-Series Coupe to be a very fine machine indeed; graceful, eye-catching, stylish and packing a punch. Well, now we have a Grand Coupe version of the car to hand and guess what, it packs a punch and is stylish, graceful, eye-catching and has four doors.

Some of you will remember with great fondness one of the most astonishing touring car racers of all time — the BMW 3.0 CSL "Batmobile" from the 1970s which was pedalled to great successes worldwide by legends such as Chris Amon, Ronnie Peterson, Hans Stuck, and Brian Redman.

FOR a car that was originally intended to fill a gap in BMW’s model line-up, you’d have to say that the 1 Series has been something of a surprise to many — not least of whom was the German giant itself.
