Pakistan’s Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud has been killed by a US missile strike.

A former Guantanamo Bay inmate who lead pro-Taliban militants in Pakistan after his release died today when he blew himself up with a grenade to avoid arrest.

Suspected Islamic militants fired rockets at security forces in a restive Pakistani border region today and troops returned fire, an official said.
