A UN committee will today hear that a great deal more work needs to be done on behalf of Irish children, writes Emily Logan

Ireland has much work to do to shore up its delivery of human rights, according to the Chief Commissioner of the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission, speaking before a top level United Nations committee.

Last summer, the chair of the UN Human Rights Committee described Ireland’s human rights record, particularly in relation to women and children, as ‘quite a collection’.
