Overhanging branches on roadside trees has led to haulage companies, nursing the costs of damages, threatening not to deliver to certain areas in Co Cork.

Newly formed municipal districts in Co Cork will have the power to decide on introducing or axing pay-parking, but doing the latter will see them lose funding from Cork County Council.

Pay parking could soon be introduced in all large towns in Co Cork, according to the chairman of the county council’s Transport Special Purposes Committee.
