A Co Tipperary hotel which has been in receivership for as much as eight years, is finally to be sold.

Irish hotels are back in business - they’ve sold like hot-cakes during 2014, with over 50 finding new owners, with €450m changing hands in the process.

A Castletownbere-based seafood company was served with a prohibition order last month and six food businesses around the country were closed down, according to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland in its latest announcement of enforcement orders.

The chief executive of the Food Safety Authority of Ireland yesterday said there was “absolutely no excuse for negligent practices”.
