Albums which have made it to the shortlist for one of the music world’s most esteemed awards – the Mercury Music Prize – were being unveiled today.

The British rock band Blur, currently in California promoting Think Tank, their first album as a three-piece group, is a new and improved band, according to drummer Dave Rowntree.
