One of the other big deaths this week was Clive James, and while we haven’t been able to find any Leeside branches in his family tree, some might remember his visit to the Everyman in 2006 as part of a tour around his memoir, North Face of Soho.

Ahead of her visit to the Cork Opera House, singer/songwriter Eleanor McEvoy is enthusing about the city’s “exquisite” 19th century landmark cathedral, St Fin Barre’s, one of the most complete examples of French Neo-Gothic architecture in Western Europe. McEvoy’s concert is in aid of the continuance of St Fin Barre’s restoration.
