VENTURE capital firm ACT has splashed out €10 million to take a stake in Dublin-based Silicon & Software Systems (S3), a specialist in advanced software for use in microchips and mobile phones.

S3 — Silicon & Software Systems — is in the midst of a major consolidation of its resources which will result in the loss of 70 jobs and the closure of its Galway design facility.
