Irish construction group, Sicon is anticipating this year will see its activity levels increase by 10%, with the recovery in the UK building market driving that growth.

TWO of the country’s biggest construction firms have been fined a total of €14.25 million as part of a major fraud investigation in Britain into illegally rigging contracts.

SICON, the holding company of Sisk Construction, has bought Tekno Surgical — which distributes orthopaedic and surgical products — for between €20 million and €30m, continuing its diversification into the medical supplies sector.
