SHANNON Development is pulling out all the stops in a bid to find a replacement industry before the end of the year for more than 400 workers who are to lose their jobs at Tellabs.

The loss of 400 jobs at Tellabs in Shannon is expected to be raised with Transport Minister Seamus Brennan, who visits the area today.

THE closure of a communications equipment-making plant in Shannon will cost the local economy in excess of €20 million annually.
