Week 11 (June 11th, 2014)

Week 10 (June 4th, 2014) On Saturday morning at about 9.40am local time the China Eastern Airlines Boeing Jet from Seoul to Shanghai had just touched down at Pudong International Airport.

Week 9 (May 28th, 2014) When I started playing GAA at under nines and under tens game day, for me, meant a thirty minute trip in the back of my parents’ Honda Civic into Waterford City, a short spin to one of the nearby parishes or a stroll over to the local field at Dunhill GAA Club.

Week 8 (May 21th, 2014): After getting our league campaign off to the best possible start it was back to the U.S Military Base for training and some coaching with the kids this week. In Korea, it is not often that the kids get to meet members of the senior teams as we train in different places.

We gathered outside McDonalds, in Seoul Station, many of us bleary-eyed from the morning’s early rise. It was 6.50am and rather predictably some of our finely tuned athletes were already delving into McMuffin breakfasts to set them up for the long day ahead.

It's the feelgood story that has everything - tears of joy, sporting triumph, Gangnam Style, a South Korean GAA team and random cake.

THE global spread of hurling and football will reach Shanghai later this month when the city hosts the DHL 10th Asian Gaelic Games tournament.
