An emergency meeting of the Save Navan Hospital Campaign is due to be called to 'mobilise people' on the issue.

Over 8,000 people have held a protest in Navan in Co. Meath against the HSE's plans to close the Emergency Department at the local hospital.

Efforts are continuing today to ensure that existing services at Navan General Hospital in Co Meath are maintained.
