Irish people who died in past wars or on United Nations service were today remembered at an annual ceremony in Dublin.

A woman believed to be the world’s oldest mother has baptised her daughter, now almost five months old, the Romanian Bishop who performed the ceremony said today.

The 66-year-old mother, believed to be the oldest woman to give birth, dismissed concerns that she is too old to rear the child and said today that the baby was her mission in life.
