Police have raided the Tokyo headquarters of a Japanese ultra-left faction in connection with last week's bomb attack on the office of nationalist history textbook authors.

A Japanese radical leftist group claimed it carried out an explosion this week near the Tokyo office of nationalist scholars who wrote a school history textbook criticised for whitewashing Japanese war crimes, local media said today.
