Venture capital firms bet tens of millions of dollars that startups offering affordable valet parking to harried urbanites would flourish in the on-demand economy pioneered by Uber.

Online takeaway service Just Eat plans to raise £100m (€119.6m) from listing its shares on the London Stock Exchange in April, joining a surge of companies seeking initial public offerings.

Dublin: Takeaway ordering service Just-Eat has finalised a financing round of $48m (€35m), co-led by venture capitalists Greylock Partners and Redpoint Ventures, backed by existing investor Index Ventures.
