Beleaguered Quinn Insurance’s 2,400 workers were bracing themselves today for hundreds of job cuts despite the company being cleared to reopen some private motor business in the UK.

THE Financial Regulator has further relaxed its ban on Quinn Insurance (QIL) doing business in Britain and Northern Ireland, allowing the company to fully resume offering motor insurance to customers.

The Financial Regulator is to allow Quinn Insurance to resume some private motor business in the UK and the North, it was announced this evening.
