Gardaí have arrested two men today as part of Operation Mombasa.

Spanish police say they have “dismantled” a major Irish drug-trafficking gang after a joint operation with gardaí resulted in the seizure of 170kg of cannabis herb and the arrest of four Irish men.

Gardaí are working with Spanish authorities after police there arrested 155 people in relation to a Chinese people-trafficking operation with links to Britain and Ireland.

The bodies of two men – believed to be the missing leaders of an Irish crime gang – have been recovered in Alicante.
