Food group Greencore has sold its malting business, including the Minch Malting plant in Athy Co. Kildare, for €116m.

GREENCORE has been condemned as an asset-stripping “pack of vultures” by Fianna Fáil TD Seán Fleming, as the food group continued negotiations to sell its malting business to Soufflet Group of France.

GREENCORE is to shut one of its 10 barley malting plants, it emerged yesterday.
