A Co Waterford-based technology company has signed a deal with O2 that could result in the creation of up to 40 jobs.

Anybody unemployed and liable for local property tax cannot have the tax deducted from their jobseeker’s assistance or benefit — and so face additional transactional charges if they pay the tax by phased payments.

Almost one million people have been warned by the Revenue Commissioners to make their mind up as to how they want to settle their property taxes for 2014.

Up to 1m householders are to receive letters from the Revenue Commissioners asking how they intend to pay next year’s full year of property tax.
