New York emergency workers who bore the brunt of the September 11 terror attacks were leaving for Northern Ireland today on a fact-finding mission.

Relatives of some Omagh bomb victims have criticised a decision to spend £1m (€1.5m) of charity cash on a new trauma centre.

A trauma centre for the victims and survivors of Northern Ireland’s Troubles was boosted today under a £6.75m package announced by the Government.
