A doctor has told an inquest into the death of a young boy that there was a delay in starting dialysis at a hospital as the boy’s father had not brought the dialysis machine with him.

AN increase in diabetes and an ageing population will increase the demand for treatment of end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) and put additional pressure on overstretched dialysis services, according to head of the National Renal Service.
