A State agency has paid almost €5m in rent on vacant space in the past five years on a building that it is unable to sub-let to others.

Danske Bank has appointed a receiver to two property firms that Bernard McNamara resigned from as a director last year.

A property company from which developer Bernard McNamara resigned as a director last year recorded a loss of over €380,000 in 2011.
