A man who left Mallow at a very young age and ended up becoming a famous painter in Canada is to be honoured in the Cork town.

A number of traders in Mallow have expressed their annoyance at being excluded from a meeting which will decide if a private company will continue to enforce parking regulations in their town.

County councillors who want to take control of parking away from a private company will have to wait until December 16 to see if council management will veto their proposal.
