Up to 80 children were feared to be among the 295 passengers and crew who died after the Malaysian Airways plane was shot down over Ukraine yesterday afternoon.

As the search resumes for the missing Malaysian Airways jet liner in the Indian Ocean, satellite images provided by France have identified 122 objects.

It is being reported that a Minister has said that Vietnam is sending helicopters to check a "floating yellow object" in the South China Sea which could be a life raft from the Malaysian Airways passenger jet that has gone missing.
