Tesco has launched into the UK's second-hand car market in the group’s latest venture to expand outside traditional supermarket retailing.

Energy group Centrica confirmed today it is in talks to sell the AA motoring organisation it bought from members for £1.1bn (€1.7bn) five years ago.

The FTSE-100 Index has surged ahead 51 points - though not many shares are changing hands.
