The head of the public accounts committee has offered to meet ex-Rehab chief executive, Frank Flannery, in private in a bid to convince him to willingly submit to a public grilling by the cross-party group.

The refusal of ex-Rehab CEOs Angela Kerins and Frank Flannery to explain themselves — and a series of financial deals — in public will again come under the microscope during an emergency Dáil Public Accounts Committee meeting today, writes Fiachra Ó Cionnaith.

Ex Rehab boss and Fine Gael adviser, Frank Flannery, has received €409,000 from the charity since leaving in 2006 — almost all of which was signed off by Angela Kerins and not the group’s finance director.

Rehab director Frank Flannery faced renewed calls today to come before the Public Acconts Committee, after it emerged he was paid by the charity to lobby the Government.
