A company owned by a religious order involved in the production of the daily Angelus for RTÉ has made a settlement for over €90,000 with the Revenue Commissioners.

The Angelus has been broadcast on RTÉ television since 1962, but in recent years there have been a number of calls for it to be changed in light of evolving attitudes to religious practice.

The firm involved in the production of The Angelus and other religious programming on RTÉ was sitting on a cash pile of €550,000 at the end of last year.

Young people experiencing difficulties in their lives were being encouraged to talk to others about it in an innovative national mental health promotion campaign called "Tough Times" unveiled today Whelan's of Wexford Street.
