A criminal investigation is being conducted into a firm that provided cash in transit and other security services and which has an estimated deficit in its client account of €1.8m, the High Court has heard.

The provisional liquidator of private security firm Business Mobile Security Services Ltd (BMSS) has told the High Court that he is concerned that the company's client account may have a deficit of up to €1.7m.

Elements within the construction industry who are owed money have in the past turned to helping themselves when it comes to recovering debts, the Circuit Civil Court heard when an interim examiner was appointed to a Co Dublin machinery rental company.
