Denis Harrington (42), formerly of Ballyspillane, Killlarney, Co Kerry is wanted in the Netherlands for seven alleged offences of fraud or attempted fraud between 2014 and 2015 whereby “several, mainly senior, people were approached by a group of Irish Travellers".

A group of Romanians, mainly based in Galway, had been linked to Irish Travellers in an utterly dishonest scam of staging car crashes to mount fraudulent personal injury claims, a judge stated yesterday.

Irish Travellers are dying at too young an age and a review of the health issues affecting the community is long-overdue, a leading Traveller support group said today.
