THE 2013 All-Ireland football and hurling titles have been won, but 14 farmers are still in the hunt for the Sam Maguire of the dairy industry. Each one of them has been shortlisted for the prestigious National Dairy Council and Kerrygold Quality Milk Awards.

THERE was no shortage of volunteers at Tullamore last Sunday, with a small army of 500, marshalled by the National Livestock Show committee of 33, headed by Michael Fox, chairman, Freda Kinnarney, secretary and Christy Maye, PRO.

PEOPLE who have given outstanding service to cattle breeding, exhibiting and judging, have been honoured by inclusion in a Hall of Fame.
