A garda feared for his life when he was caught in a speed-trap van as a “petrol bomb” was thrown inside and yesterday a man on trial for arson and endangerment was found not guilty following a legal argument.

A BOOK of evidence was served on a man accused of endangering the life of a garda by setting fire to the Gatso van in which he was sitting.

A 30-year-old man has been remanded on bail after he was charged in connection with a petrol bomb attack on a garda speed camera van, in Co Cork over 18 months ago.
