A Dublin father of two has been given a suspended sentence for possession of child pornography.

A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to three years in prison with the final 18 months suspended for having video and photographic images of children and babies, some as young as three months, engaging in explicit sexual activity with adults and other children.

A convicted child abuser who viewed computer generated child pornography has received a suspended jail sentence after a judge said the images did not harm or exploit children.

It has been claimed that the personal details of nearly 4,000 people were obtained during an overnight attack on the Fine Gael website.
