A NUMBER of mainstream Muslim organisations yesterday issued a joint statement condemning claims by a Muslim religious leader that extremism was rife among young Irish Muslims.

IN THE wake of the latest massacre of more than 190 civilians by the Lord's Resistance Army in Uganda last Saturday, it is noteworthy that both your newspaper, and the media in general, refuse to label these individuals as "terrorists" and insist on referring to them by the far more innocuous term, "rebels".
