Dundalk’s ‘bouncebackability’ will be put to the test against Limerick at the Market’s Field tonight, as the Premier Division leaders resume their quest to dethrone champions Cork City who currently trail them by just three points.

It’s the final night of the regular season in the SSE Airtricity League and, at the bottom of the Premier Division, Limerick and Drogheda United will hope to turn the last chance saloon into the second last chance saloon — while Galway United and Sligo Rovers, will be cursing the fates should a miraculous swing in goal difference see either of them dragged back into the relegation mire.

The last time Cork City and Dundalk did battle, the league title was on the line on the final night of the 2014 season, with the Lilywhites crowned champions after a 2-0 win which will live long in the memory at Oriel Park.

The eircom League may be set to benefit from the six-month ban handed down to Donegal attacker Brendan Devenney.
