THE Department of Communications has promised a €90 million broadband infrastructure lying idle since last summer will be free to use by the end of this month.

A Limerick-based company is planning to create 65 jobs in the city after it won a contract to manage government-funded broadband networks in more than 25 towns throughout the country.
