Murphy’s Stout has beaten off competition from brands in Europe, the US and Japan at an annual awards ceremony in Australia.

Late last year multinational drinks giant Diageo sold Gilbey’s, its Irish wine distribution division, to Tipperary-based drinks distributor, Gleeson.
