Republic of Ireland football captain Robbie Keane has thanked the public for their support after the death of the second of his cousins who were overcome by toxic fumes during the week.

The man killed while working on a sewer yesterday was Republic of Ireland striker Robbie Keane’s cousin, the FAI has confirmed.

The Health and Safety Authority has launched a full inquiry into how one worker died and another was left critically ill after apparently being overcome by fumes at a housing estate in Dublin.
