Transport Minister Leo Varadkar insists the new credit card-size driving licence is not open to fraud abuse.

Motorists applying for a licence could be facing four-hour round trips to get their photograph taken for the credit card-size permits which come into use next week.

The introduction of a new style of driving licence is a mundane matter and if it leads to more efficiency then it is to be welcomed.
