A MAJOR hospital yesterday defended its decision to reject a free service offered by a children’s health charity which is headed by former Taoiseach Albert Reynolds.

PARENTS of seriously-ill children can benefit from international and national medical expertise in their local hospital thanks to a child’s heartrending letter to a doctor after her sister died of leukaemia.

Former Taoiseach Albert Reynolds, whose wife Kathleen survived cancer, is spearheading a €1m campaign to save the lives of children with the disease.
