KAZAL, one of the toughest horses in training, took his score for the season to six victories from seven races with a typically gutsy performance in the valuable Michael Purcell Memorial Novice Hurdle at Thurles yesterday.

THURLES passed an inspection yesterday morning, but the two scheduled chases have been abandoned and so one of the maiden hurdles has been divided to make a six-race programme.
