IRELAND’S oldest brewery has thrown down the gauntlet to its competitors by announcing a price freeze.

Beamish Stout has won the internationally renowned Gold Medal at the annual Monde Selection 2007 awards in Barcelona.

Last year was a record year for Beamish and Crawford, company managing director Alf Smiddy said today.
