Sinn Féin appears to have taken its eye off the ball in defending the interests of nationalists and supporters of the Good Friday Agreement in talks to revive power sharing at Stormont, a rival claimed today.

The Democratic Unionist Party will try to prevent the election of a First Minister in the Northern Ireland Assembly following the next Stormont election, a senior member of the Rev Ian Paisley’s party said tonight.
