An energy firm that has imposed two price hikes on its customers in the last 14 months saw its profits more than triple last year to €45.7m.

Three companies have been left with court convictions for making unsolicited marketing phone calls and sending spam emails.

PRE-TAX profits at the main arm of renewable energy company, Airtricity, last year increased by 80% to €28.4 million.
