Aer Rianta Shannon has announced that low-fares airline Thomsonfly.com will begin operating a daily a service from Shannon Airport direct to Coventry on November 3.

The airports are threatened with disruption this afternoon at the height of what has already been a difficult tourist season.

Management at Shannon airport say major investment in infrastructure is needed in the west if the airport is to continue to thrive.
