Despite threats to his personal safety, Limerick State solicitor Michael Murray never flinched from his duty and responsibility to uphold the rule of law through difficult times in the city, a judge said yesterday.

A convicted rapist has failed in his legal action against the Irish Prison Service and the Minister for Justice for the recording of phone calls he made to his solicitor during his trial.
