This year the marathon has moved from the Monday to the Sunday of the June bank holiday weekend and this change has proved extremely popular.

An incident at the start of the 13.1 mile run saw a number of runners led off course.

“So much for inclusion in sport, feeling excluded again having to pay for guide runner in marathon because he will avail of aid station etc."
