The latest #MakeMemories nationwide campaign has been launched by the Make-A-Wish charity.

If you need to put things in perspective then have a look at the smiles of eight-year-old Ruby O’Rourke from Cobh, Co Cork, as she enjoys her visit to Donkey Sanctuary in Liscarroll thanks to the Make a Wish Foundation.

They’ve been through sick days, hospital stays and hair loss together, but friends Ashleigh Kiernan and Amelia Deane now also share the joy of having had their wishes come true.

A charity which helps grant once-in-a-lifetime adventures for children with serious illnesses will have to put the dreams of about 60 children on hold this year because of a slump in public donations.
