Luas strikes are to go ahead this weekend - as Dublin prepares to celebrate the centenary of the Easter rising.

Luas workers look set to “roundly reject” pay increases of up to almost 19% in a ballot which is due to be concluded later today.

As three grades of Luas staff today enter talks at the Workplace Relations Commission on potential pay increases, driver colleagues are preparing for seven days of strikes within the next seven weeks.

Luas workers have announced two more strike days , on March 8 and 17 ( St Patrick's Day).
