Lifeguards were forced to close a leading Co Donegal beach because of dangerous jellyfish.

More lion’s mane jellyfish than cuckoos have been recorded on the west coast of Ireland this year, in what may represent a seismic shift in our natural environment.

Members of the public are being warned to be on the lookout for lion’s mane jellyfish spotted in Irish waters.
